Curriculum

The BICC curriculum encourages the development of the most essential skills for success. These skills include linguistic, critical thinking, creative and leadership skills. These skills are instilled in our pupils through an engaging, student centred and differentiated learning environment.

This school provides the programmes and qualifications of Cambridge International Examination (CIE), which are divided into the following stages;

Early Years Foundation Stage & Key Stage 1 (KS1)

The Early Years Foundation Stage includes Pre School, the four Foundation classes and as in the English school system, Years 1 and 2 (ages 5½ to 7½) form the classes which make up KS1.

Key Stage Two (KS2)

Pupils aged 7½ to 11½, in class Years 3 to 6, collectively form KS2. The number of children at British International College Cairo enables us to provide 2 classes in Year 3, one in Year 4, two in Year 5 and one class for Year 6.

Key Stage Three (KS3) & Key Stage Four (KS4)

Pupils aged 11½ to 13½, in Years 7 and 8, form Key Stage 3.  Due to numbers there are two classes in Year 7.

Pupils over the age of 13½, in Years 9 and 10, form Key Stage 4.
